Wesley Clinical School
First launched in 2009, The Wesley Clinical School is a multidisciplinary school for both undergraduate and postgraduate health professionals.
The establishment of The Wesley Clinical School has been supported by funding from the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing under the Increased Clinical Training Capacity program, and from Health Workforce Australia.
The Wesley Clinical School offers clinical placement opportunities for all health disciplines, medicine, nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, exercise physiology, dietetics and pharmacy. Over 1000 students are placed at The Wesley Hospital every year across all disciplines with significant growth occurring in the last two years. We take our responsibility of teaching very seriously to ensure a positive experience for the student as they journey to become a professional.
The Wesley Clinical School also provides quality clinical education programs for postgraduate clinicians and for our staff. Many of these programs are accessed by the wider health industry across Queensland and contribute to The Wesley Hospital staff obtaining postgraduate qualifications through affiliated universities.
The Wesley Clinical School has formal partnerships with The University of Queensland, Bond University, Griffith University, Queensland University of Technology, James Cook University, Australian Catholic University and Careers Australia College of Healthcare.
