Dr Penny Mackenzie is a specialist radiation oncologist with extensive experience caring for patients with breast cancer, head and neck cancer, complex skin cancers and haematological malignancies. Penny also has a special interest in geriatric oncology. Penny is dedicated to providing high quality cancer care and the best possible outcomes for all her patients.
Penny completed her specialist radiation oncology training in Brisbane followed by an overseas fellowship in breast cancer at the Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto, Canada in 2013 and 2014. More recently, Penny has served as Head of the Radiation Oncology Department at St Andrew’s Hospital in Toowoomba Penny is looking forward to returning home to Brisbane to be a part of the Wesley and Chermside GenesisCare and wider multidisciplinary cancer teams.
Penny is the current Chair of the Radiation Oncology Reference Committee at the Cancer Institute (eviQ). Penny is also completing a PhD in geriatric oncology and radiotherapy. Penny serves as a committee member at Cancer Alliance (QLD) on the partnership committee (QLD Cancer Control Safety and Quality Partnership), which supports clinician-led quality improvements in Qld cancer care, and the radiation oncology committee.
