The passing of Ipswich icon and hair salon mogul Gaye Anderson has sparked an outpouring of love and tributes from the many people who knew and loved her.

Gaye Anderson passed away on Tuesday, April 12; days after celebrating her 50th wedding anniversary with husband Vern.

She was well known and respected by people across the city, but particularly by Ipswich hairdressers and business people who knew her as the owner and operator of Gaye’s Hair Fashions.

The beloved hairdressing giant leaves behind her adoring husband Vern, her children and grandchildren. Family members have said donations to The Wesley Hospital would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
