Wesley haematologist and oncologist awarded Dr Jon Douglas award
Dr Paul Eliadis AM is our 2025 recipient of The Wesley Hospital's Dr Jon Douglas Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to our hospital community and to cancer care.
Presented annually, this award celebrates a clinician whose dedication, leadership, and service have made a lasting difference to patient care and the Wesley community.
Dr Eliadis is a leading clinical haematologist and medical oncologist with more 35 years' experience in the diagnosis, treatment and management of malignant disease and stem cell transplantation.
He has served our Wesley community for more than three decades, helping to pioneer our oncology services across both inpatient and outpatient care. His leadership and clinical expertise continue to enhance our services and the experience of our patients and their families.
Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Eliadis has contributed meaningfully through education and governance, including as a member of our Medical Advisory Committee (MAC) and Quality and Assurance Committee (QAC).
More broadly, as a founder of Haematology and Oncology Clinics of Australia (HOCA), now known as Icon Cancer Centre, he has made an extraordinary impact in cancer care and continues to support medical research in this field.
When nominating Dr Eliadis for the award, his colleagues acknowledged his excellent bedside manner, commitment to teaching, stellar reputation amongst his peers and the compassionate, highly professional support he provides for our patients living with cancer.
Congratulations and thank you, Dr Paul Eliadis.
