Andrew is a consultant colorectal surgeon, with a broad experience in all aspects of colorectal surgery. He is an experienced and accomplished laparoscopic surgeon. he consults at the QLD Pelvic floor centre in Bowen Hills and operates and performs colonoscopies at The Wesley Hospital.

Andrew completed his Batchelor of Medicine and Surgery at Sheffield University medical school in the north of England in 2001. He completed his eleven years of basic and higher surgical training in South Wales and London.

He spent 2 years in medical research obtaining a research MD from the university of Cardiff and now supervises medical students and colorectal surgery PhD Students for UQ as a senior lecturer.

Following achieving his fellowship in general and colorectal surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2016 he came to Brisbane to do a post training fellowship in laparoscopic colorectal surgery. He and his family enjoyed Queensland so much they have made it their home, and he became a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

Andrew has worked for 6 years as a colorectal consultant in Australia. Andrew is a keen researcher with a special interest in the management of colorectal cancer, malignant polyps and in familial colorectal conditions. He provides advice and management of all aspects of colorectal surgery and proctology.

Andrew takes a friendly approach to care, enjoys getting to know patients and helping them understand their colorectal conditions, aiming to make them feel as comfortable as possible. He believes in an evidence-based individualised approach to care. Andrew is always happy to be contacted for clinical enquires.
