Dr James Cockburn is a Specialist Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS). He is also a member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).
Based in Auchenflower, Brisbane, Dr Cockburn provides comprehensive specialist surgical care, combining technical surgical precision and with a compassionate, patient-centred approach. He is committed to delivering individualised care, with an emphasis on achieving the best functional and aesthetic outcomes for his patients.
His broad clinical interests include all skin cancer management including melanoma, surgery for skin excess following weight-loss, body contouring, breast surgery (cosmetic and reconstructive) head and neck cancer surgery, complex lower limb reconstruction and hand surgery.
Dr Cockburn consults and operates privately at The Wesley Hospital and contributes to public surgical services on the Gold Coast. His public hospital work includes participation in multidisciplinary head and neck cancer clinics and complex ortho-plastic multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, where he collaborates with colleagues across specialties to manage challenging reconstructive cases.
