Dr Jen-Ti (Rachel) Hsieh is an oral & maxillofacial surgeon with dual qualifications in Medicine and Dentistry. She completed her medical degree at the University of New South Wales with honors and her dental degree at Griffith University. She then undertook specialist surgical training at various hospitals across Queensland and was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, FRACDS (OMS).
Dr Hsieh is a consultant oral & maxillofacial surgeon at Woolloongabba Oral Health Centre. She is passionate about teaching and sharing her knowledge with undergraduate students, OMS registrars in training, as well as general medical and dental colleagues.
Dr Hsieh practices the full scope of oral & maxillofacial surgery with special interest in dentoalveolar surgeries in patients with inherited or acquired bleeding tendencies, oral pathology, corrective jaw surgery for dentofacial deformities or obstructive sleep apnoea. Having dual qualifications means Dr Hsieh is the key connection between her medical and dental colleagues. This allows safe and comprehensive treatment for patients with complex medical and dental needs.
Dr Hsieh divides her time between public and private practice. Outside of work, Rachel is a busy mum looking after her young family with two beautiful twin girls. Originally from Taiwan, Dr Hsieh speaks fluent Mandarin and enjoys cooking Asian flavoured cuisine.
Dr Hsieh consults from the Wesley Medical Centre as well as branch practices at Upper Mount Gravatt and Mackay.
