Email WebsiteDr Feenstra is a Thoracic Physician with interests in obstructive sleep apnoea, complex sleep disordered breathing, non-invasive ventilation, pulmonary arterial hypertension, and diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopy.
He is the Director of the Wesley Pulmonary Hypertension Unit, which was established in 2008 to provide assessment and management of pulmonary hypertension. The unit has a senior clinical nurse and researchers under his supervision.
Dr Feenstra is the academic lead for Medicine at the Wesley and St Andrews Clinical Schools. He holds the academic position of Senior Lecturer with Bond University.
Dr Feenstra is currently involved in clinical trials in the areas of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pulmonary arterial hypertension, obstructive sleep apnoea, insomnia and scleroderma related digital ulcers.
He graduated from the University of Queensland with an honours degree in medical science in 1995 and medicine in 1996. He completed his advanced training in thoracic and sleep medicine at four of the major teaching hospitals in Brisbane and was the Senior Thoracic Fellow at the Prince Charles Hospital in 2005. Dr Feenstra became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians in Internal Medicine and of the American College of Chest Physicians.
