He then undertook further training in advanced heart failure at Royal Papworth Hospital in Cambridge, the UK’s leading specialist cardiothoracic hospital, as well as completing a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Heart Failure at the University of Zürich in Switzerland. Dr Burrage then returned to Brisbane and completed his subspecialty training in cardiovascular imaging with a fellowship in Advanced and Structural Echocardiography at The Prince Charles Hospital.
