Dr Alex Croese is a Colorectal and General Surgeon. After completing his surgical training, he travelled to Melbourne to further his colorectal career at the St Vincent’s Hospital. At St. Vincent’s he worked in a quaternary inflammatory bowel disease unit which gave him great insight into its management. From St Vincent’s Dr Croese stayed in Melbourne but went on to work at the Footscray Hospital, a high volume cancer centre, where he was the accredited CSSANZ fellow. His second year as a CSSANZ colorectal fellow was completed at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane which is home to Queensland’s only peritonectomy service.
Following completion of his CSSANZ Fellowship Dr Croese returned to his home town of Townsville where he had a busy public and private practice. Due to family reasons he relocated back to Brisbane where he is working at the Wesley and Princess Alexandra Hospitals.
