The Wesley Hospital offers a supportive and hands-on part time (0.8 FTE) 12-month Graduate Nurse Program (permanent position) that caters to both Enrolled Nurse and Registered Nurse positions:
The program includes a 24/7 rotating roster to prepare you for real world hospital nursing. Graduates who successfully complete the program are offered a permanent position. Designed to build confidence, develop clinical skills, and support your long term career in nursing, the program offers positions within the following streams:
General Nursing Stream
Midwifery/Nursing Stream
This program allows new graduates with dual nursing and midwifery registrations to work across all areas of midwifery, including labour ward, post-natal and special care nursery, and to complete a general nursing rotation.
Perioperative Stream
The perioperative stream offers graduates a 12-month, non-rotational scrub scout program, or a 12-month rotation in anaesthetics only (possible rotation in recovery as per opportunity availabilities).
Interested in a career in critical care? After completing your graduate year, you will be eligible to apply for a position in ICU, Emergency or Dialysis.

Our program provides permanent graduate nurse jobs, meaning you won’t have to look for a job after you finish your program. You can apply for a position in one of the areas in which you completed your rotations, or look to try something completely different.

Some have been supporting and educating students and graduates for more than 20 years – so they have a good understanding of what you’ll experience during your first year in the real world.

Applications open for the next intake on 9 March and close on 5 April. Interviews take place in May for a commencement date of 17 August.
