Dr Andrew Nathanson

Dr Andrew Nathanson is an Upper Gastro-intestinal, Bariatric and General Surgeon based in Brisbane, with a passion for providing exceptional patient care. His interests includes emergency general surgery, hiatal and anti-reflux surgery, oesophageal and stomach cancer surgery, and bariatric surgery.

Dr Nathanson completed his MD at Flinders University in 2013, and subsequently completed his surgical training in Brisbane in 2020, and was awarded his FRACS. Dr Nathanson then spent three years undertaking further subspeciality fellowships at renowned medical institutions around Australia; the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide, and St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne.

Dr Nathanson is currently appointed as a Consultant Upper GI Surgeon at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, and is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland. He has joined the private practice of Professor Andrew Barbour, an eminent Brisbane Upper GI Surgeon.

Dr Nathanson consults at The Wesley Hospital and Greenslopes Private Hospital, and operates at The Wesley Hospital, Greenslopes Private, and Mater Private. He is a member of RACS, AANZGOSA, GSA, IFSO, and ANZMOSS.
