Dr Albietz is a locally and internationally fellowship trained spinal surgeon. After completing his Royal Australian College of Surgeons fellowship in 2005 he travelled to Canada for further spinal surgical training for eighteen months in Vancouver, British Columbia and then London, Ontario. Dr Albietz exclusively consults and operates on spinal conditions affecting both adults and children. He operates on all spinal conditions affecting the neck and lower back, from disc prolapses causing sciatica to complex scoliosis or spinal tumour surgery.
As well as running a very busy private spinal surgery practice, Dr Albietz holds a position on the Wesley Medical Advisory Committee. He also works as part of the spinal injury unit at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and is involved in research and teaching of spine fellows, registrars, and medical students.
Albietz provides an affordable and individualized focus towards the management of spinal conditions throughout his experience and knowledge of the latest surgical techniques. He also recognises the importance of referral to and works closely with other medical and non-medical spinal clinicians when non-surgical intervention is indicated.
