What is the Wesley Pain and Spine Centre?

The Wesley Pain and Spine Centre is home to pain management rehabilitation programs aimed squarely at helping you manage your condition and regain control over a quality of life affected by long-term pain.

The program uses an interdisciplinary, education-linked approach focused on your specific needs. Through better knowledge and a firmer understanding of your condition, you will learn to implement strategies to improve your ability to manage your pain and gain greater control over your life.

All patients require a pre-admission consultation with a specialist pain medicine physician. Our pain management programs are group based, usually with six to eight participants. We offer a variety of program options, which will be discussed with you during your initial consultation.

The typical indications for a referral are:

  • You have been in pain for more than three months.
  • Your pain has not responded to medical or surgical treatment.
  • Your rehabilitation has not progressed as expected.
  • You have had an increased reliance on medication to cope with pain.
  • You have difficulty returning to work due to ongoing pain.
  • You have been experiencing an excessive dependency on healthcare professionals.

Is this you? If so, see your doctor about getting a referral to attend the Wesley Pain and Spine Centre.
